FOR YOUR SELF (LOVE): Habits > Goals
The goals you actually need. (and are all internal!)
The For Your Self (Love) section was born from my need to remind myself to appreciate everything I do - from starting this page to sitting and reading the newest book on my shelf.
One of the ‘myths’ of self-love is that you have to do something in order to deserve this love. No, you do not. It is actually in not doing that we can give ourselves self-love.
The outcome of this little (in size, big in impact) myth is:
In the eager pursuit of validation for (the supposedly unconditional) self-love, we forget to give ourselves time… and ultimately, love.
Do you know what we call this ‘eager pursuit’?
Daily life.
(Update made 1 AC - After Capitalism).
Let that sink in.
Allocate space for the next 5 changes into your yearly goals:
Accept yourself more gently.
Speak to yourself more compassionately.
Forgive yourself more deeply.
Love yourself (and others) less conditionally.
Treat people more kindly.
Oh, and these are long-term (not to be dramatic, but ‘for-life’) goals so much so that they must become a habit.
Speaking of habits, let me throw in an extra hard truth resource for you on why you should just dump goals, and get into a relationship with habits:
Creatively yours,
Katrin
